Post by: BlackLight on September 22, 2017, 03:49:27 AM
And we're back! All new night! All new VFX budget! Steve Buscemi's kid brother, Michael!

Slow build, Scarecrow looks awesome. Bring back Butch, quickly. Stop making people under 120 pounds ass-kickers.

Bruce is like 75% batman already, slow down!

Is scarecrow reminding anyone else of Mankind?

In the voice more than the costume, but yeah.

Yes, the voice is exactly what I meant. Not just the sound but the cadence and even word choice

And he looks more like Nightwing.  Batman might have to start eating cheeseburgers by the dozen.

Figures - cast a twelve-year old pipsqueak to be their eventual Batman. Kid is now 16 and he hasn't filled out.

Put him in touch with Affleck - let him share tips on his "training regimen."

They did a TERRIBLE job on Scarecrow's outfit.  Just boring and plain.  Did nothing for me

Azrael had a much better outfit.

Too bad they blew that one way too early.

The Azrael outfit was great.  The storyline behind it was lame

Because the last two seasons of all my shows I didn't watch til they were on Netflix I forgot how much the recap openings can ruin what's going to happen in the episode.

Grundy and Riddler - I approve.

This was my favorite episode of the season, so far.  They did great with Grundy!!!  I could do without another Falcone / Gordon / Lee potential love triangle.

So, does this break the cycle of "No one ever stays dead in Gotham?"

I mean, he's technically undead.  :)

I don't think he ever died.

Catching up - that Professor's grandkid, does he become someone?

Don't think so, but I'm not that up on the canon.

I'm thinking no at this point LOL

Hmm..

Butch = Grundy was so far out of left field, it's honestly impossible to say.

Anarky would be a good fit, given he's a teen during the Bat years.

I'm assuming the kid will say dead

So opinions: Which show did a better job with the R'as A Ghul story. Arrow or Gotham?

Gotham imo.

Arrow Ra's was kind of a disappointment.  Poor man's Slade, frankly, and paled compared to Damien Darhk. Ollie NEVER should have beaten him.

I kind of like that the Gotham actor was Julian Bashire ( Thought it was Gaius Baltar at first.  :) )

Most sjw sites refuse to accept Diggle Arrow.

Proof of bad markering imo.  Why would they do this in the era of Jane Foster Thor, if not to capitalize on "new sjw icon for old rope."

This will be a season change, bare minimum.

1st time in the run of the series we get an episode without Bruce Wayne.

1st half of this week's episode was dull as dishwater. 2nd half was pretty good. Party boy Bruce. Bullock looks to be in a terminal decline. No Riddler and Grundy this week, but it turns out they weren't missed.

I liked Zsasz's stand in.

Wonder if he'll be the first guy to stay dead in Gotham.

The Pig twist seemed a little obvious to me.  Wouldn't someone be able to identify all the police officers?

I felt like they were reaching with the many moods of Bruce until I thought about my teenage.  They got this one right.

Bikers that can have lots of money don't install cameras anywhere?

I like the evolution of Gordon.  He's learning from his past.

I want more Grundy.

Not if they're doing illegal stuff. They'd be recording evidence of crimes that could be used against them later on.

Sorry, I meant outside the facilities. Besides, I forget I am picking on a show where people don't stay dead.

Last night was what I think is the second episode in the entirety of the shows run that did not feature Bruce Wayne.  I'm liking these episodes he isn't in as it allows more time for the other characters to develop.

Was I the only one who actually was made a little uneasy at them showing Grundy ripping people's arms off and beating them to do death with them?  Seemed so out of place with all the other superhero shows going out of their way to avoid showing random gruesome deaths.

Can't really say there is a character I hate on this show anymore other than maybe Barbara and Selena.  Everyone has really come into their own.  Is this the start of Gordon finally going full Lawful Good and not just skirting the line anymore?  The Harvey situation while sad seemed a little out of character as well.  He didn't really want the job from what I recall at the end of last season and at no point do I recall ever making it official that he was Captain.  So wasn't he still interim with the knowledge someone would be made the permanent Captain?  Also with all his actions in the previous season he'd have been admitting after he couldn't face them he isn't the man for the job and Gordon is.  He practically did by making him hold the ceremony so why the anger?

Overall thought it was a solid episode.  I actually haven't been following the CW universe after week 1 as it's just to much to keep up with right now for me with work and the new kid but, I don't find myself missing it.  Actually looking forward to the Gotham episode every week.

I think he knew something wasn't right with how Jim got his promotion. He was being protective while also seemingly drunk. He was bound to act like an ass.

I thought that but it just didn't come off that way to me.  We'll have to wait and see in the next few episodes how they're relationship develops/crumbles from here
