It's not On Demand with my service yet (They're really proving to be spotty/unreliable with that.  Just like last service.)

Heard it was on Hulu for a limited time, but only for Plus members (And apparently ONLY plus app's are on devices like an Xbox.)

But got lucky and found a review that pointed right at it on Youtube.

I'll skip the middle man:

DC Entertainment..  I guess that explains why TheVerge could point to a Youtube stream, as the rights holders themselves must have uploaded it.

Ok, so the fireworks are this weekend, and we're debating what to do about this couple.

Basically, they always leech off of snacks/sandwhich's everyone else brings, but never brings any of their own stuff, and never offers to pay for anything.

No one wants to outright tell them to bring shite, they should know what they're doing...  Also, not inviting them isn't an option because they'll be there regardless.  So, it's either:

No more big hauls.

1.  Everyone brings their own lunch bags just for themselves/their famlies.

2.  Everyone eats before showing and brings nothing.

3...Suck it up, let the bastards leech.

That "puppy/monkey/baby" commercial.

Aside from being just plain stupid, since when does any young college student "bro"  type think babies are cool?

Actually, that opening..

Shot of the lamp, talk of "lost in the dark" and a question from young Jimmy "Is she gonna be OK?"

"She's gonna be fine."

"How do you know?"

"Just wait, Jimmy.  Wait and see."

Forshadowing that Chuck is going to be allright?  Survive the fire, and maybe get the help he needs and make a turnaround?

Talking Dead:  "IS he dead?"

Oh yeah, I'm sure he'll walk out of that fire unsinged.  Because people walk out of building burning all the time amiright?

Again with the insurance problems:

Healthcare provider calls, tells me the date of birth information is wrong and they can't process their claim.  I call my insurance's claim department (Of course, it's a call center someplace far away, so it's hard to hear what they're saying), and they confirm my information is correct.

Not a clue what to do next.  And the secretary is on lunch at the moment..

The way PC Gamers talk up a game, and when you realize it sucks, claim they meant "with mods", and tell you they'd never touch the thing in vanilla status.

Like that's the normal thing, right?  Modding up a game to make it playable?  Sucks if you're on a console, you just bought a garbage game.

Kind of reminds me of Dragon's Dogma a bit, if DD had robot dragons..

Two things annoy me:

The media/advertisers and the general public.

I've started to wonder, does anybody in the news/media believe what they say?  Or are they telling people what they want to hear?

And is the general public critical of the media?  Or do they lap up whatever affirms their world view?

This is just an extension of a very cynical theory:  Some humans are made to be exploited.

If a cult leader didn't have vulnerable people to exploit, they wouldn't be able to form cults.  E.g., for whatever reason,,certain people have it in their nature to be prey to other people.  A class of people is disposable targets for other people, by their very nature

Not something I'm happy with, but the fact everyone answers on surveys that depressed people are "unattractive, passive, unintellgent", just might mean it's in our natures to be fodder if we fall into those categories..

Starting to feel sorry for Chuck.

For all his crap, he really is a mentally ill man.  And now he's watching his entire life unravel.

Who are these people with hands free sets that talk on their cell phones non stop?

I mean, for hours while going about their day.  If it's couples, doesn't the person on the other end have better things to do?  Or are they going about their day too, while talking?

That kind of constant contact would drive me insane...

Saw it.

By far, this is the best Superman movie in years.  :)

A hero with a noble heart from another world acts as an inspiration to man and wants to save people, no matter what.

I love my Marvel movies, but not too many of them are "super-hero" shows..  Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, Ant Man, Iron Man are great character dramas, yeah.  Just not in a noble, idealistic, larger then life way, like Man of Steel SHOULD have been.

But imo, Wonder Woman nailed that.  As far as I'm concerned, this is the spiritual successor to Christopher Reeve's Superman.

Think I'll be waiting on this.

The local theater has the worst timeslots.  1 p.m. or 4?  Why not 2 or 3?

You know, so you could do some yardwork AND have evening plans?

Following along through Season 1.

No way Tom is an undercover agent.  He's too much of a tool to be.

The way this series goes, we're more likely to see a White Walker on the Iron Throne.

Best character is by far The Hound, imo.  Gonna be interesting if he ever meets Arys again..  (Or IS it Arys?  What did he mean when he said "So a girl is "No One" at last?  Did the other girl kill Arya and take her place..?)

General Discussion / How far ahead to you shop?
« on: June 07, 2017, 05:47:06 PM »
Asking becauase my 95 year old grandfather, who recently suffered a fall and was hospitalized (Nothing broken, thank god, his face was merely bruised up.  Ready to come home soon.)

So, I've been going through his things while he's away, to clean up for the incoming help, and found a lot of stuff stowed away.

We're talking five containers of maple syrup kind of backups.

He's always spent a lot, and we assumed he just eats day and night and rarely sleeps.  Clearly, he's either just looking at sales and buying whatever's on, or his memory's going.

But I see a lot of "buy up all the sales" people, just filling their carriages with junk they probably don't really want because it's "cheaper".

So, wondering how people shop here.

Me, I'll hit up sales on things I know I want already.  Tbh, I purposely try to keep junk to a minimum as part of my diet strategy..  I have low impulse control, so if it's not there I can't binge on it, and I'll give myself one or two binging days  (Down over 10 lbs in the last four months.  Maybe not spectacular, but it's progress..)

i'd prefer to hear it from the writers, the dialogue in the last episode was clear as day "how does it feel to love someone, that doesn't WANT you?"

And in the end, an actor doesn't necessarily know the whole story, and is just interpreting what he does know like the fans.

I doubt he'd argue the sams thing now.

http://tvline.com/2016/11/13/gotham-season-3-gay-penguin-robin-lord-taylor-homophobes/

Quote
During an appearance with castmate Sean Pertwee at this weekend’s Rhode Island Comic Con, Taylor addressed those who have come to him to claim they have “no problem” with Oswald being “gay or queer,” except for the fact that it conflicts with character traits established in comic book canon. “That’s a bunch of horses–t,” he declares in the FanGeek video below, at the 1:00 mark.
By demonstrating such a double standard, “What you’re saying to me is, ‘I am homophobic, and I am afraid of gay people,'” Taylor argues. “That is exactly what you’re saying.”

I love Robin Lord Taylor's character, and wouldn't argue against a gay Penguin , but seriously, he needs to step back.

If your first impulse is to push the nuclear option, you're probably not really interested in a discussion in the first place.

Or who knows, maybe that's the point.  Stir the pot and get people talking, bring in interest to the show.

Lot of love talk between Riddler and Penguin..didn't really seem like family love they were talking about.

It's paternal/maternal/brotherly love!

Hence the completely natural murderous jealousy!  Don't we all want to murder our family when they chose sex over us?  ;)

Trying to help someone set up one of those fancy camera phone doorbells.

My god, the related app must be designed by newly minted h1-b prospects from India, with all the stability issues and unintuitive interface.

Like, I get everyone outsources to the cheapest bidder, but is quality control and customer satisfaction even on the table anymore?  Is everything bottomed out at "Just cut every corner you can.  They'll buy it on curb appeal anyways, consumers are suckers"?
