The King of Rock and Roll has a fist jammed into his throat? No prob.

Kind of a mirror image example here - a song that sound very dated, but actually came out far more recently.

"No Rain" by Blind Melon. Came out in 1992. I've been hearing it for years and thinking it came out in the 70s and that Paul McCartney was out there singing lead.

And we're back. Good premiere - at least in that it wasn't difficult to follow what was going on or why it was important. Still bummed about Quinn, tho.

Geekville / Gotham By Gaslight (2018)

The latest Batman animated feature. Gotham City and all its characters re-imagined as they would've been in the 1880s-1890s. Batman, in his early vigilante years, trying to catch Jack the Ripper as he prowls the streets of Gotham, slicing up sinful whores (as one does).

I kinda wish they'd make this a continuing series of films, rather than a one off, but I doubt they will.

Eli Manning Dirty Dancing parody was awesome .

Eli makes a big impression on Super Sunday, and the Pats lose the big game again. Coincidence? Nope.

I don't know if it belongs on this list, or the Endlessly ReWatchable list, but "Demolition Man."

Don't we all do that though? I know I do

I should hope so. If these aren't relatable, then I don't know what we're doing here.

When you open a frozen TV dinner, throw out the box, then have to pull the box back out of the trash to find out how long to microwave it.

I'm not expecting anything remarkable in my ancestry results. Father's side, from what I can tell, came out of France. Mother's side was English. Probably going to see some Scandinavian in there, as I understand they were the ones who settled the British Isles back in the day.

Debuted tonight. JK Simmons is a low level functionary at a Berlin intelligence station. Stuck in a meaningless career, no chance of advancement, while his wife lies in a coma at a local hospital. Then one day, he's pulled into a room and introduced to himself - a doppelganger from an alternate reality - the doorway to which is found under the intelligence station. Alternate JK - a James Bond-type, is on a mission to thwart an assassin from his side, and JK Prime is roped in to assist.

I enjoyed the first ep. The difference in behavior between the two JKs makes this a fun watch. Will give this a shot.

"San Junipero" - S3, E4 - Really good, but felt like the ending was tacked on.

Anyone do this, or one of the other ones, like Ancestry? Just sent out my spit sample - paid for the ancestry and the genetics testing. Hope they don't come back that I got something weird.

I was a skeptic until this guy let his female student try his technique on him. It worked perfectly, and she had never done it before!

well that's pretty bad, but 44MM people is a less than 15% of the population. A far cry from most.

Givling does sound cool, I'll sign up one of these days when I'm not so lazy

Do the 30-second sign-up on the web -

They like people downloading the app, but this way, you can sign up without doing that. My Invite Code is AS225966

I wonder whose invite code that is in the story.

That Invite Code belongs to Seth Beard - Givling's CMO. He's not eligible to get a loan payoff. They just put his code out there so people reading the article wouldn't have to hunt for one.

BTW, I doubt MOST Americans have 100k in student loans.

I don't know. I'm sure the number is going up. Student loan debt is not bankruptable, generally speaking, and federal student loans are guaranteed by the taxpayers. So lenders are a lot looser about who they lend to, and how much they lend. Colleges and universities know this better than anyone - as they have fewer reasons to keep the cost of attending down.  Outstanding student loan debt in the U.S. is roughly $1.4 trillion, with roughly 44 million individual debtors. That alone puts the average at almost $32,000 each. My share of the debt was at least that much when I graduated, and that was 15 years ago.

Anyway - also getting some love from the PA media:
