I'm pretty positive The Midnight Express (w/ Cornette) will get inducted by Ricky and Robert.

Kenny Omega signs another year with New Japan. Smart. No need to go to WWE right now when he’s still a big deal outside of it and his value keeps increasing.

Plus until Vince leaves to fail at the XFL 2, they’ll ruin him and make him ordinary.
I've seen Kenny do comedy. My hunch is they'd see Kenny say something silly backstage and it would be beaten into the ground onscreen.

Wrestling & MMA / Why aren't Rusev Day babyfaces?
« on: January 13, 2018, 01:40:07 PM »
They're one of the most entertaining acts in wrestling right now, including Japan.

Rusev, English, and Lana as a babyface stable would print money. I'm pretty sure Lana wouldn't have trouble leading Rusev Day chants.

Wrestling & MMA / Re: Daniel Bryan in 2018
« on: January 13, 2018, 05:17:46 AM »

The Bryan/Shane story is the most interesting thing in WWE right now.

I think SCB is right that it might be difficult for Bryan to get booed, unless they truly let him do things that a dastardly heel would do (See Jericho, Chris). They'd still try to overscript him.

That said, turning somebody heel so they can be humiliated on their way out is common in the traditional wrestling business.

As I said in tonight's Wrestling Brethren podcast. Jericho is not afraid to pee on people's shoes when he's a heel.

He slapped some random motherfucker at ringside in it!!!!

It was more than random. That was the son of the guy refereeing the match.

I worked at a movie theater at the time. I have no recollection of a theater release. But good gravy Lori Petty looks like she's having fun with this role

Short spoiler-free review: Really liked it. Unlike Force Awakens it didn't feel like a remake. Mark Hamill really brings it in his performance, and the story is quite simple in a good way. If I had any complaints, it's that the movie is almost TOO dark at times.

Wrestling & MMA / Re: Woken Matt Hardy vs. Bray Wyatt

I think we need to be honest. That was not good. Whatever creative license Matt has, Monday night he was handed a script to do exactly what he did last week, but scripted.

Exactly right. Way too scripted. All you need for evidence is several seconds of nothing but laughing.

Tom Selleck, who had to turn the role down because shooting conflicted with Magnum, P.I.'s shooting schedule.

I find it difficult to see how a non-speedster can catch a speedster in mid-action.

Let me try my hand at this

Who was considered before Harrison Ford for the role of Indiana Jones? Video proof exists.

Allegedly TNA/Impact/GFW/WhateverTheFuckTheyAreThisWeek are allowing any alumni to use their gimmicks. Whether they're just trying to be good people, or they just have no money to sue is anybody's guess. But in the end this is a good thing.

Bryan Alvarez compered it to Popeye. As a life long Popeye fan I can say he's not wrong.

Two more shows to go (Decided to see Designated Survivor instead of hour three.)

Yeah, space nazi's are a fun concept.. But this being the CW and all, the cynic in me can't help but wonder if there's a dig at the "alt right" burried in there somewhere.

Not that they've ever been shy about just being in your face about it, e.g. every time Cat Grant says something.

They did have a "Make America Aryan Again" line which was pretty ridiculous, but I've just accepted that's what they do.

Diggle was incapacitated at the end of last week's Arrow, if memory serves. He was taking a drug to counteract his nerve/muscle reactions.

The lack of Palmer bothered me. Maybe it was a budget thing. Same reason why I'm disappointed there was no Martian Manhunter.

That said I really liked it. Sci-Fi nazis will never get old. The fight scenes, while not graphic, were pretty brutal. Alex capped people point blank in the head. Even Ollie had sub-machinegun bursts to the gut.

This is it, the final episode of The A1 Podcast.
Fear not though, as the regular panelists of Norko, Jarret, Josh and Seth are launching a new show in the near future, The Wrestling Brethren Podcast.
As far as the news goes, Bullet Club members Cody and The Young Bucks have taken the initiative to promote an independent wrestling show with the goal of drawing 10,000 fans. Is this even possible for a non-WWE show? And if so, who could be involved to sell that many tickets?
In WWE news, Finn Balor has reportedly been removed as the challenger for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Title at The Royal Rumble. Balor even decisively won a recent WWE poll asking fans who should face Lesnar
Norko and Seth talk about the first month or so of The NWA under Billy Corgan.
And finally, the panel reminisce about the past 6+ years of the A1 Podcast, and share some favorite memories.
All this and much more in the FINAL fun-filled A1 Podcast!
