Alight, A1 trivia participants.  The obvious theme here will be people that originally offered to do something or were not chose instead of a something made famous by another person.  I hope that keeps simple.  I have tried my best to verify the sources.

Wrestling & MMA / Raw 11/20 and Smackdown 11/21 Combined thoughts

Raw: Ten minutes wasted on HHH and the gang.  Roman Reigns was getting cheered against The Miz.  Congrats to them on figuring this out.  I was kinda bored with the rest of the match.  Paige, Tuff Enuff and Cyborg wanna be show up and tear stuff up.

Smackdown.  One minute Sammie and K.O. are pre-show, the next, they are the M.E.  Go figure.  Ruby Riot shows up with another NXT long termer and Mae Young battler. They beat up stars and ruin matches.  I like it.  AJ is the man.

After thoughts:  There was a 4-way contender's match for the NXT Women's Title.  None of them came over.  This is stupid.  All four of them and the BFF that came out in the beginning are ready.  Vince is stupid! This is dumber than adding HHH to the SS match.

Emma, Summer Rae and Darren Young take the first hits.  I am surprised about Emma.  It would seem like she might be a good trainer.

General Discussion / It - 2017

Is there really not another thread for this film?

I liked it alot more than I thought I would.

Everyone I know who saw it compares it with the TV version. Between technology and the benefits of our ratings system, thus film was going to be better.

They did great with Pennywise.  They did great with the Georgie sewer scene.

The kids themselves are great actors.

The scare factor is there.

It comes across as a Stand By Me horror film.

Best movie this year for me!

Enzo is money!  Of all the things that happened that night, letting him throw heelish insults at the crowd and the wrestlers was gold.  I hope they don't screw up and take the belt off of him too soon.  I am more tempted to watch 205 Live than ever.  Promise me Enzo on the mic and I might watch.

Good job with Sheamus and Cesaro working with the Miz.  However, a PPV main that consists of the Tag champs and IC champ together doesn't sound too tempting.

Mickie James still has it.  I credit Nya for working better than normal.

Strowman devours another top tier wrestler.  I haven't read the sheets on what's next but I am curious.

So Balor and Wyatt aren't done.  Bray says she wouldn't lie and he has more to show Wyatt.  New character intro coming soon?

The SHIELD shot at the end was good for a buildup.  My guess is we will have some tags with Roman and 1/2 Tag Champs in the next few weeks.

Not the best show, not the worst.   I miss Joe!!!!!!!

Wrestling & MMA / Smackdown Nakamura
« on: September 07, 2017, 06:09:56 PM »
If there's ever been someone in WWE that's lightning hot their first year, it's him. I cannot figure out why he's had several amazing Smackdown wins that deserved to be on PPVs.  If he's hot in the US and Japan, wouldn't that be a win for the WWE?

The man who beat Orton and Cena is predicted to lose against the current Champ.  It's like McMahon is trying to prove something to himself.  I understand it's a business but this will be remembered as a low spot in Smackdown history.

Does it feel like the product has been damaged?  If so, can a Nakamura title run fix it?

Wrestling & MMA / Raw 8/29/17
« on: August 29, 2017, 11:16:30 AM »
First, this was a good show.  Raw is having a better build to No Mercy than any other PPV this year.   Why did it take Summerslam for them to get there.

The IC Battle Royal was a little predictable but very fun to watch.  This one match created and continued a few angles, as it should. I credit Dallas and Axel for looking like they might make it to the last 3.  Hardy and Miz should putt on a good match next week.

Heyman is on fire with his promos again.  He did a great job at putting over Strowman.  Brock handled his own well.

The tag team title match single matches are a little redundant but that's too be expected.

Putting Cena and Reigns against each other is brilliant to get the fans to pick a side.  It seemed like Roman was holding his own in the promos but Cena sealed the deal at the end.   This could be interesting jaw-jacking until the show.

Please dear God in Heaven, let this be a face turn for Bliss.  Watching her match with Sasha was reminiscent of the Raw ME of Trish and Lita.  Bliss is a natural champ and I think the fans will allow her to be the top face.  That being said, it's time to turn the Boss.

This show seemed a little misguided.

Lesnar going after Miz and co. seemed wrong, even with Paul's explanation.

Poor Bailey.  This really screwed with the Women's title.

The highlight seemed to be Rollins blowing off Ambrose.

General Discussion / Disney replaced Kermit

The gist, Disney called him, explained there were issues and told him bye.  Replacing Henson was rough. Kermit was a huge part of my childhood.

So Jarrett goods to look like an ace for combining GWF and Impact matches.

I think it's more the talent on the show.

I try to watch but turn it off as soon as Karen Jarrett shows up on the TV.

Is Jarrett really going to help save this show?

Wrestling & MMA / Billy Corgan reported buys NWA

According to the sheets.

He's buying a company that was licensing only without a TV contract.  It's almost like starting over.  Did he lose a bet or take a dare?

Is there a way to revive the Old NWA method of one big Company governing others at this point?  Would anyone want to see that?

Wrestling & MMA / Raw Thoughts 5/1/17

Alexa Blyss has taken the baton and ran with it.  I expect Vince to keep her in the Women's forefront as long as she stays uninjured.

They teased the Hardy's being broken.  Smart move on paper but horrible in execution.

Bray Wyatt and Balor are money.  This could be an incredible Summerslam match.

Now we get to the slow burn of Braun and Brock.

This show was better than the Raw after WM.

The pre-show had Enzio pinning Gallows. I thought that ended on a stupid note.

They also had Miz TV with Balor. Looks like Miz will be fed to him soon.

Matt is teasing the Broken bit a little more.

Netflix new series is about a girl who commits suicide and finds a unique way to communicate with those she felt played a part.  I've had friends who read the book and felt that it attacks the issues of bullying, sexual harassment and even assault.  It also examines all sides of an occurrence.  I'm on episode 7. It reminds me of the hell I went through in school.
