That time when Gus Fring posed as a journalist and tried to undermine the great Bob Roberts's Pennsylvania Senate campaign (then later tried to murder him).

It was a serious answer - have you seen her?

I've seen her. I don't think she's gotten hotter. Looking at her, I feel like I'm seeing years of hard living having prematurely taken their toll.

Maybe Chuck makes it through that, but it's pretty clear he was trying to kill himself.

Shock of the night is that the episode was super compelling, without a single appearance from Mike.

I think they tipped their hand with Kim. It seems unlikely she ever does die in the course of this series, not if they had a chance to bump her off and didn't take it. I bet the series finale features a post-BB Jimmy reuniting with her.

Great idea on Twitter tonight. Everyone who's ever played Batman should attend his funeral, like all the Presidents do when a President dies.

I'm planning on seeing it, but I'm going to wait until the movie crowds die down.

 In fact, you could say....

Yes but Oswald did not refute Nygma's (clearly stated) interpretation!  8)

Because, at a fundamental level, Oswald doesn't really know what he wants (or why he wants it) either.

For one thing, Riddler's impression as to the nature of Oswald's affection is entirely beside the point. Nygma might well interpret it as an authentic romantic attraction. That doesn't make it one.

But the main point here is that "love" in an umbrella term, and you're not looking under the umbrella. Oswald's affection is not coming from a place of authentic romance. It's coming from the same place that had him loving his mother. And since he's emotionally stunted, he can't help but channel his feelings inappropriately. It looks like authentic romance, because Oswald never learned how different types of love manifest in human behavior. When he sees two adults in love, he assumes that affection is of the same character as what they must have felt for their parents.

Okay, now you're both being ridiculous. Robin Lord Taylor restated what I was saying about Penguin seven months ago, and you're holding out on the idea that he's among the least-informed humans alive in terms of what his character actually wants. Or that the writers had a completely different idea, but Taylor just did his own thing and nobody noticed or bothered to stop him.

To quote Jenny Curran: "Forrest....you don't know what love is. You big dope." (paraphrased from memory)

I grocery shop once a week, and I don't buy something unless I'm running out. I will go to different stores if I know there's a sale on something I want.

Quote
Interestingly, Taylor at the very start of the video shares his own opinion that Gotham‘s Oswald “is not” necessarily gay but “emotionally fractured” and “vulnerable” in the wake of both his parents dying. As such, anyone who treated him with kindness and respect, as Edward Nygma has, would have earned his fervent attention.
“I truly believe that had it been Barbara, or Tabitha… or Butch…. Regardless of if they were male or female, he would have had that same obsession,” he contends.

I think I'll take that victory lap now.  :yahoo_mini:

So we started out with 3 male/female teams And end up with Penguin and Tabitha on the loose
Riddler will get free of course
Is Barbara really dead?

And who is Cyrus Gold? I feel like I should know that name but I can't place it

I was bummed they whacked Barbara. Between her and Tabitha, she was more interesting to watch, but maybe the Tabby/Selina team will be interesting. And yeah, it's Gotham, so they could easily bring her back next year.

I think Cyrus Gold is a fairly deep cut in the DC Universe. He's got a few different origin stories.

If you hadn't overloaded the ferry with all your crap, you'd have made it to the other side.

Who the fuck wants to trek to Oregon in the 1800s in the first place? Morons, that's who.

Dysentery from drinking polluted creek water cannot hit you people soon enough.

Both Leigh and Barbara Kean became 50 times more interesting after they broke bad. I can only hope the same holds true for Gordon now that he's infected himself.

As for the rest, this show is just littered with plot holes, week after week. I don't think the writers are really trying that hard to rein it in, either. But I'll give them this - the show is interesting.

I'm sure it didn't pay that well. But he had a 3-4 year-old daughter at that point, and maybe he wanted to work on something that she would be able to watch. Or short of that, he wanted a job that would've had him home to see his daughter on most days, rather than on some distant location making a movie. Maybe the chance to be home more often was part of trying to save his marriage to Kim Basinger.

40k A DAY??!

Did they just pull that number out of their arse?  I don't care how realistic that western world is or how rich the clients are, who in their right mind would pay forty thousand dollars a DAY to play cowboy?

A night in the Penthouse Suite at the Four Seasons in Manhattan costs more than that.

If consequence-free debauchery and murder is to your tastes, $40,000 a day is quite reasonable.

The theory I heard that makes some sense is that Mike was reminded of the Good Samaritan who found Hector's truck after Mike robbed it (and got disappeared for his trouble). Mike was going to kill Hector in retaliation until Gus made him back off. Orchestrating the cocaine-sneaker plot was supposed to make it even, but for Mike, it didn't. Hearing the Navy widow talk about her husband who went hiking and just vanished one day just re-lit Mike's fire. The key is (I assume), finding a way to do it without Gus finding out (which may not be easy since Gus is tracking Nacho's van).

Anyway...anyone Wanna Call Saul?

I'm guessing it had to do with raising Chuck's insurance rates. Precisely how it relates, I'm not sure. Maybe Chuck's position in the firm means that his mental illness would affect the risk and premiums for the company itself?

What I wonder is why Mike went from not wanting to help Wormald make the deal with Nacho to getting himself involved, seemingly on the basis of talking to the Navy widow. Not sure what one had to do with the other.
