Daredevil Season 2 (Netflix)
« on: March 18, 2016, 04:40:20 PM »
Managed to crank out the first four last night and before work. Does not waste time getting to Punisher. So far I'm hooked again.

Only complaint might be some of the lines given to Daredevil and Foggy, just don't come off natural.

I'm watching the first one now. Kind of wish I hadn't known it was Punisher

Is it wrong I agree with him?

It's probably wrong

Episode 4, when Karen is talking to the janitor by the water, you can see a big green building in the background. That's where I work

Just watched all of this.

They absolutely understood The Punisher.  Perfectly executed.  Great mix of what we got from Thomas Jane and Steve Ray.

So much happened in this season that ties to the first and sets up the third I wonder how much of this show's story they've actually mapped out.

Finished the series.

Not enough Punisher and he was the best part of the entire series.

Favorite episode was easily #9 because of the cell block scene and the person who orchestrated it.

I thought it was the right amount of Punisher for a series called DareDevil
Although I gotta say, the whole "nobody dies" thing was getting a little tiresome

Spoiler  :
question - do you think there is any connection between Castle and the people who made Jessica Jones?

I found the whole subplot of who killed Frank's family very hard to follow. I didn't really care and wasn't sure by the time it was revealed.

Punisher was the best and most believable character by far for me. They had several instances to soften him up or make him cheesy, but he stayed his own person no matter how hard people tried to change him.

One shot. One kill.

Just finished it.  I didn't really care about Daredevil by the end of it.  Punisher had an awesome arc. I did like the minor tie-ins to Jessica Jones.

The only tie in I saw was the nurse mentioning Luke. Oh and the lawyer. Did I miss any others?

I agree, DD's "nobody dies" mantra got old fast.

They outright state the DA is gonna run her campaign on anti-vigilante messages using the Jessica Jones incident as ammo

Yeah, I get DD not killing common criminals, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea of letting members of The Hand live.

I must admit I was left wanting more Punisher than I was Daredevil by the end of all this.  Great follow-up to season 1 though.

One episode from the end of the series.

Yeah, I'm not sure if comic Matt has this strict "no kill" policy, since every other martial artist I've seen from Iron Fist to Shang Chi kills ninja and Hydra agents, I can't believe Daredevil wouldn't..

On a positive note, Frank Castle is awesome!

He's also kind of the only thing I liked about this season.  Elektra, I didn't get..  She wants to jerk Matt's chain, and suddenly ends up being Sticks disciple, but wants to leave him for Matt.  But then she leaves Matt to..  keep killing, I guess?  And out of nowhere, now she wants Stidk dead?

And then the Black Sky comes out of left field.  More or less beyond caring about her, Matt, Stick, and the war by this point.

And don't even want to talk about the forced drama parts..

The finale was good, if predictable.

Matt "idiot" Murdoch just revealed his identity to a reporter.  Want to bet weighing the publics right to know with keeping his secret is going to be a major plot point in the next season?

You left out..."that he has a romantic relationship with" when you pointed out he revealed his identity to "a reporter."  That part is kind of important.

A "failed" relationship.   :biggrin_mini2:

Once the shock wears off, one of her first reactions is probably gonna be anger at being lied to.

And there probably will be the "To report/not to report" conflict.  Most any story about reporting drives home the "DUTY TO REPORT, NO EXCEPTIONS" theme (Unless you married Superman, I guess).

Any way you slice it, we've entered Arrowverse level drama here.  :p
