Sega Mega Drive Classics Hub on Steam
« on: April 28, 2016, 10:19:15 AM »

Sega has launched the Mega Drive Classics Hub on Steam. The hub is a 3D environment designed to mimic the bedroom of a '90s gamer, with a Mega Drive (Genesis) connected to a CRT TV, shelf full of games for the console, as well as Sega posters on the (virtual) walls and dynamic time-of-day conditions. Gunstar heroes.

Sega did this one themselves..?  Wonder how the emulation quality is?  Digital Eclipse's work was pretty spotty..

Edit:  Oh, crap:

chrono  has SEGA Genesis & Mega Drive Classics Dec 4, 2013 @ 2:53pm
It's using Gens. Gens has the same sound lockup at the opening title of Alien Soldier (far as I can tell. Based on what I assume is an OST with the correct sound).

It does make sense that they'd use Gens: It is under GPL, and would be near costless to license. I am bothered that this isn't mentioned anywhere in the program's folder or in any about dialogs though; I think that is a violation of the original license.

Gens..  Not good.

Guess I'll consider it for the legality, as I don't really emulate anymore.  And that Sega room sounds enticing..
