Vince sending the message that steroids pay off.

One week after he knocked Balor out cold too? I'm sure Vince loves him aside from the steroids.

I'm not really totally against this though. It's way out of left field but sometimes you need stuff like that to keep things fresh. Jinder is a solid guy, nothing crazy and if it's an obvious transition feud to kill time then why not elevate a new guy?

Orton talking about Wyatt in front of Jinder will either be used next week by Jinder to show disrespect or they are just stupid.

I think Vince is sending a message that he is control.

AJ Styles is the #1 contender for the US Title and Mahal is the #1 contender to the Word's title?

They could have had a slow build for him.  This came out of nowhere.  He's been jobbing for the last how many years?

And apparently they are giving Jinder henchmen, or creating a small stable, as the Bollywood Boyz from NXT were promoted on SDL.

I always thought that if WWE was willing to push the PG13 envelope a little bit, they could do a modern-day version of Slaughter vs. Hogan with Mahal and a top baby face. But, I doubt they're willing to go that far to make it real enough to do it justice.

This is not the WWE Title Match I want to see in person. I will have to convince myself that Owens/Styles is the main event.

Charlotte may save this ppv.

New Day will be a breath if fresh air.

The New Day gimmick has long run its course.

Doubtful New Day will be at Backlash. Kofi will likely be still recovering at that time, and the word is they are keeping E/Xavier off TV until they can all "debut" together on SDL.

New Day work better now playing off of other teams. When they come out and do stuff by themselves it's a bit stale.

They should stay together but have singles runs like The Shield did to keep it fresh.

I think its time they give one of them a legit world title run. I would be fine with kofi getting the shot since I feel he deserved a good world title run years ago even pre new day. I do not know the severity of his injuries or if his body is breaking down though. Xavier woods is the one who imo is the best on the mic out of the 3. BigE  is also solid and I remember he had a really good match with Rusev a few years ago at a summer ppv I think in rusev rookie year pre new day.

The problem isn't trying somebody new. The problem is Jinder has, out of all the matches he's wrestled, exactly TWO singles victories in the last year, or whenever it was he came back. It's impossible to take him seriously as a threat to Randy Orton.

Now, if he formed this stable and got a month or two of winning matches, THEN wins a contendership match, we'd have a different story.

Zandrax nailed it. I came on here to make the exact point. He jobbed in 3 minutes the week before to Mojo and this week while in the ring with Randy Orton, was pretty much ignored by him when Bray Wyatt's cheesy video aired.

There's no build up at all for this.

Thing is, he's not meant to be a threat at all. He's simply fodder to build up Orton. And therein lies the problem with this whole thing.

I'm terrified they are going to strap Mahal... extremely terrified.

This has that feel when Flair would drop the belt for a month or two to someone who came out of nowhere.

That Smackdown belt became meaningless once Bray jobbed to a boring face Randy Orton. This house of horrors match which nobody knows what it is, makes it worse since they're on different brands. Plus Randy ignored Jinder in the ring once Bray's cheesy video package aired.

The most prestigious belt on Smackdown belongs to the face of America Kevin Owens.
