NXT Takeover 2017
« on: August 19, 2017, 05:03:34 PM »
I think the only matches I want to see are the tag titles and the World title.

Today is day 504 of Asuka's Title reign.

They are pushing the main roster stars tonight.  They've interviewed Angle and then former NXT champs like Big E, Nakamura and Neville.

Aside from Omega and Styles, Gargano might be the best US/Canadian wrestler right now.

That tag match was simply designed but it worked. I expect to see AOP on Smackdown this week.

The Women's title match was clumsy at points.  I am not sure what they can do with Asuka at this point.  Maybe Ember Moon got called up.

The Main was good but it was following a legacy of excellent Takeover Brooklyn MEs.  I hope Roode gets called up.  He could breathe life in either shows' mid-card.

Adam Cole goes right after the champ. That was very cool.

The only thing I can think of for taking the belt off Asuka, is someone signed from the MYC.

Triple H has pretty much made NXT into his ROH. If this is what we have to look forward to after Vince steps down, then I welcome it. Triple H has complained about NXT not being where he wants it to be due to Vince's interference and NXT stars being called up too early or being misused on the main roster.

Ember Moon has to be called up because there is nothing for her in NXT. Asuka too, but she's still the champ and needs to drop it to somebody unless they want her pulling double duty for a bit.

Roode is entertaining and competent in the ring, but that's it. He just doesn't have great matches, I don't know how well he will do if he is getting called up.

Adam Cole had a great debut, although McIntye has become a giant monster with his height and physique, I don't know how well Cole will look against him.

Bobby Roode is an old school 80's heel, wrestles like one too. And I mean that in the best way possible. He'll never be a tweener and get cheered like Owens because his motivations in the ring and mannerisms are so clear.

I do agree he doesn't put on great matches, but he is very good at what he does do, get people to watch him get his ass kicked in very good psychological matches.

He's also often compared to Triple H, especially TNA's Triple H. I don't know if Triple H sees that, but he would be a much better protege for him than Seth Rollins was if he wants to recreate a proper successor to him. If anyone has seen Roode's It Factor gimmick, it's pretty much Triple H's run from 1999. Now they even look more alike with the short hair.

None of this really matters if Vince repackages him as a Wyatt family member.
