How big of an arena could this match have stateside?

I feel like we are getting robbed over here and New Japan did something amazing.  Am I just a over informed wrestling fan or could there be a draw here?

I doubt it. With some build, yes. But on Jan 4, 2018? No. Omega isn't that well known here.

I doubt it would sell out a major arena here. But an ROH show would sell out overnight.

I wonder how he worked this out with Vince. He leaves all the time and comes back and never wrestles for another company.

I think this will be great for both guys. Jericho can have a great high quality match which he probably cant in the WWE with their restrictive style at this stage of his careeer. And Kenny can have a match with a big name from the states.

The biggest draw right now is Brock vs Jinder Mahal. The two most legit champions in one ring and WWE is really close to signing that match.

I would be lying to you if I said that I wasn't hoping for Mahal to win that match. It would be awesome.

Jericho may be on a mission from Vince to sign Omega. I think Omega's contract runs out at the end of January. This may be setting up Omega's move to WWE.

Fatty may be on to something about Jericho wanting Kenny in WWE. Though Kenny was part of that Raw Invasion from a few weeks back that got Jimmy Jacobs fired.

Kenny is a perfect fit for the WWE cartoon character environment.

It's also looking like Jericho was the "Switchblade" gimmick they've been teasing for months

If they want to bridge the gap between bullet club and wwe, Kenny is the key. He can help get the Young Bucks signed, and cut into the Hot Topic merchandise.

I dont know if theyd want to be with the wwe right now as they are very successful without them. Maybe for the future though. Kenny has said his dream is to main event Mania against AJ.

For the record, Switchblade is Jay White, which is a whole other story

I dont know how to embed YouTube videos here anymore, but did you guys see Jericho attack Omega?

Character wise this is the best Jericho in years. Hes actually a believable bad ass and this all feels real, especially the press conference where Jericho flips a table then goes off on a reporter.

Also love Don Callis taking a code breaker, who put this deal together between his two friends. Speaking of the code breaker, look how great Kenny sells it.

Total 80s fued done in modern day

Zero talk of this here...

But the match was a great brawl. Jericho is having a ton of fun as a heel with no leash.

Jericho attacked Naito later on, guess hes not done.

Jericho left a piece of himself in that match.  I'm happy for him. It definitely worked.

Both Omega and Jericho put each other over after in their post match appearances stating the they got their ass kicked by the other.

Jericho also busted out the actual lion tamer rather than the Boston crab walls of Jericho a couple of times.

I freaked right the hell out when he busted out the Lion Tamer. Full on.

He slapped some random motherfucker at ringside in it!!!!

I thought the match was really good. And you're right, Jericho was having the time of his life being the heel. The problem was, the audience seemed to like him to much to boo him.

It was more than random. That was the son of the guy refereeing the match.

As I said in tonight's Wrestling Brethren podcast. Jericho is not afraid to pee on people's shoes when he's a heel.

Kenny Omega signs another year with New Japan. Smart. No need to go to WWE right now when hes still a big deal outside of it and his value keeps increasing.

Plus until Vince leaves to fail at the XFL 2, theyll ruin him and make him ordinary.

Not really news, but more trivial, Dave Meltzer gave the match 5 stars. I think its the only 5 Star hes given Jericho.

I've seen Kenny do comedy. My hunch is they'd see Kenny say something silly backstage and it would be beaten into the ground onscreen.

He'd go to NXT. It's a good place to hide wrestlers that you will say need to be groomed for your product.

That would be a huge middle finger to him and his status. NXT is a farm League. Omega is an international superstar. Theres no grooming needed.

Itd be like sending AJ Styles there instead debuting him at the Rumble. Kenny doesnt need WWE. Hes been headlining New Japan and part of the best selling merchandise with Bullet Club.
