Which musicals have you seen live?
« on: September 13, 2010, 12:33:17 AM »
I saw Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Toronto when i was 11 or 12.  it was pretty cool from what i remember.  Donnie Osmond was the lead dude, and sang a whole bunch of songs.

I also saw the Lion King in London, England when I was 17.  The props and costumes were great, I really enjoyed the experience.

that's it for me.  I had a chance to see the Evil Dead musical in Toronto, but at the time I had very little money and totally backwards priorities (rye whiskey).  i'd like to see more, but the closest city to me now is Calgary, which is a cultural wasteland (unless you're into cowboys or hockey).

Cabaret, 2 years back. Wayne Sleep was in it.

Might be seeing Little Shop of Horrors in a couple of days too. We live next door to a theatre, and minutes away from several others but we usually see plays rather than musicals. Apart from the time we saw Circus of Horrors, which was a sort of musical, but totally terrible in every conceivable way.

I saw Jesus Christ Superstar in Vegas when I was 15. Ted Neely and Carl Anderson were both in it and it was awesome. Ted Neely belt it out. I've seen it probably 4 or 5 times. A couple smaller local productions. I saw it again a couple years ago in New Haven with Ted Neely again. He couldn't quite do it like he used to, but he was still awesome.

I saw Lion King twice, once on Broadway. The sets in it are amazing.

I saw Guys and Dolls years ago in New Haven with Gregory Hines' brother Maurice.

I saw CATS at the Wintergarden.

I saw Wicked in Hartford a couple years ago.

I saw Chicago on Broadway with Christopher McDonald.

I saw Rock of Ages off Broadway before it went big, it was awesome. It was a small theater. We met Constantine Moralis after the show and we talked about Mike Mussina.

Oh and I saw Mamma Mia! in New Haven I think, might have been New York can't remember.
